The keynote speaker at this event will be Clare Sealy. Clare is Headteacher at St Matthias Primary school in Tower Hamlets, East London and a former School Improvement Partner for Essex.

She is well known for blogging about her school’s attempts to put educational research findings into practice at www.primarytimery.com.

Her particular interests are the application of cognitive science in the classroom, rethinking assessment for learning and developing a primary curriculum that builds cultural literacy.
Clare will explore the rationale behind the recent emphasis on the curriculum by Ofsted and others. She will look at what we can learn from cognitive science about knowledge and memory, how these both play a crucial role in understanding, and how this should influence curriculum design.

There is no charge for attending the event, but it will be a ticketed event and tickets will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
