The first London Careers Festival hosted by the City of London Corporation will be at Guidhall, 17th-21st June 2019. The event is designed to connect children and young people with businesses, so not only are they introduced to the diverse array of opportunities offered across London, but to fuel their imaginations and help inform and shape their futures.

London Careers Festival programme will focus on skills, work experience and employability. Its central pillars are Apprentice 19 and the Livery Careers Showcase which takes place on Tuesday 18th and Wednesday 19th June.

Apprentice 19 enables students in year 10 and 12 t explore employment and work experience opportunities within a range of industries. 60 potential employers and existing apprentices will be there to talk to students. Companies will range from Google, the BBC, Pearson, the Evening Standard, Capgemini and Accenture through to banks, accountancy firms and the Armed Services.

TheĀ Livery Careers Showcase enables pupils to engage with over 30 Livery Companies via stalls and interactive exhibits – Tuesday 17th is curated for Primaries, and Wednesday 18th for Secondaries.

There will also be three individually themed fringe days with activities and events:

  • Monday 17th – Creative Industries
  • Thursday 20th – Digital
  • Friday 21st – Finance and Professional Services

The programme of events will be curated to meet the Gatsby benchmarks which can be used to help enhance your school’s careers provision, this ensuring maximum benefit to those who participate.
