Missing Maps

Date of past event:

10th October 2017

This lecture on Missing Maps explained about the project aiming to map the world’s most vulnerable places.  It was held on Tuesday 10th October 16:00 to 17:00 at Alleyn’s School.  It was suitable for any students in years 11-13 who were interested in the role of GIS in international development and disaster management.

MSF, Doctors without Borders introduced the Missing Maps project and how students could be involved. It was hoped that following the introductory lecture there would be regular Mapathons at Alleyn’s; however attendance at the talk did not commit attendees.  This was an ideal opportunity for those wishing to gain experience in GIS mapping and also counted towards the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award programme.
