My Start Project
presents LandEscape
An exhibition of Art and Film work from Kakuma Refugee Camp.
Friday Sari Project, 25 Dulwich Village, SE21 7BN, Monday 17- Friday 21 June 2019

MyStart invited schools to come and mark Refugee Week by attending the Friday Sari Project exhibition space from Monday 17 to Friday 21 of June 2019

The exhibition displayed art and film-work created by young refugees living in Kakuma Refugee Camp, Kenya-home to nearly 220,000 people fleeing conflict from Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Somalia, Ethiopia, Sudan, South Sudan and The Democratic Republic of Congo.
The work shared the stories and showcases the incredible creative talent of young people living in this challenging and harsh environment.

The exhibition connected students to this remote and inhospitable refugee camp; engaging them with the issues surrounding conflict and forced displacement. We will be running an accompanying workshop so your students are able to reflect, feedback and create response work that will be taken back to Kakuma for display.
To book in your school visit and workshop (2 hour slots) and for more details please contact Amy@mystartproject
We recommend 20-24 students per slot
Cost for school is £260
All costs go directly to supporting our projects on the ground in Kakuma
