The Opera Story: Robin Hood

Date of past event:

9th March 2019

We all know Robin Hood, don’t we? The righteous hero that steals from the rich to give to the poor? Well, what if we didn’t? What if there was something else behind that facade, a dark secret perhaps?

Local schools were invited to bring students in years 7 and 8 to attend the Open Dress Rehearsal on Monday 25th February at 7:30pm or to buy tickets for one of the six performances between February 27th and March 9th

For their third production, The opera Story recast the Robin Hood story under a different light, in a contemporary retelling by librettists Zoe Palmer and Rebecca Hurst that re-thinks his struggles and motivations. Set to beautiful music by up-and-coming composer Dani Howard, and in a multi-floor production directed by Polly Graham, this was a production that breathes new life into a familiar story by bringing out a side of Robin Hood and the characters around him that is deeper than what we see in the old tales.
