What are Multi Sensory Techniques?

Dr Susie Nyman’s talk was a lively interactive presentation to help parents and teachers inspire children with dyslexia. She shared her easy to replicate techniques that can be used both on a 1:1 basis or with larger groups. These dyslexia friendly teaching techniques are also helpful to children with other specific learning differences.

Description
After the session guests were able to:

  • Understand ‘Multi-sensory Techniques’
  • have actively participated in a ‘Signature Lesson’
  • Be able to use specific techniques listed in the ‘Multi-sensory Toolkit’ from the latest ‘Dyslexia Friendly Schools Good Practice Guide’.

Susie showcased innovative, tried, tested and easy-to-replicate ‘Multi-Sensory Techniques’ that she uses in curriculum support on a one-to-one basis, and large groups in the classroom setting at The Sixth Form College, Farnborough.
