
The Young Economists’ Conference
On Wednesday 7th July Year 12 Economics students will come together from across SSLP schools (and beyond) for a full day’s conference, including speakers, a panel discussion and a workshop.
The first speaker of the day is Helen Thomas, CEO of Blonde Money. Helen will be speaking about the role of financial markets and how the pandemic has changed them. Next will be Lal Chadeesingh, Senior Advisor at the Behavioural Insights Team talking about Behavioural Economics.
Building on the morning’s two speakers will be an interactive workshop and competition, completed within school groups. In the afternoon there will be a panel discussion with a focus on career paths. Professor Dianne Coyle, from the University of Cambridge will round off the day by speaking about her work on the idea of Natural Capital and Comprehensive Wealth.
