Student Voice

Student Voice: Neurodiversity

This year the whole of the SSLP will focus on Neurodiversity. Students will collaborate over the course of the year to make our schools are more welcoming place for all students.

In 2020-21 we were delighted to be awarded a Partnership Grant from the Department for Education. A three-year grant that helped us move students to the heart of our partnership and encourage their engagement with the planning of activities as well as the participation.

The overwhelming topic of conversation for 2020-21 was Racism, and thus we actively engaged with the conversation across all our schools and all of our activities. Find out more about our Anti-Racism activities on the following pages: SSLP Anti-Racism Project and Anti-Racism Resources.

At the end of the academic year we asked our collective students to choose a focus for 2021-22. One thousand and twenty four (1,024) replied to the questionnaire – 446 students requested the topic to be Mental Health. This decision influenced many of our activities that year.

In June 2022 a group of students from Southbank University Academy asked us to make Sustainability the next topic of conversation. We were more than happy to oblige.
