In 2022 fifty-eight SSLP applicants were provided with a mock interview by a subject expert that they’d not met before. In addition thirty-nine students attended online preparation classes in Economics, Engineering, English, History and Maths.
Eleven more students had mock medicine interviews, each comprising of seven mini-interviews.
Oxbridge Support 2023
Oxbridge Online Preparation Courses
Dulwich College will run five online preparation courses (each with 6 weekly sessions). Students were invited by their schools to express an interest over the summer holidays.
The final selection of courses run was dependent on the number of people who registered an interest in each topic.
The five topics to be taught this year are:
- Biology
- Computer Science (including maths)
- Economics
- Engineering & Physics
- History
Where they have expertise, other SSLP schools are offering bespoke support to the students who expressed an interest in other subjects.
Mock Oxbridge Interviews
Teachers supporting Oxbridge applicants are asked to provide a list of students and subjects for whom mock interviews would be beneficial to admin@sslp.education on, or immediately after the Oxbridge submission deadline, 16th October. We will then endeavour to provide mock interviews for everyone not already being supported.
Mock Medicine Interviews
Depending on the number of students applying for medicine degrees the SSLP will organise one or more virtual sessions where students will receive seven mini interviews over the course of an hour. This will mimic the Multi-mini Medicine Interviews (MMIs) that many universities now favour.
