The Southwark Schools’ Learning Partnership (SSLP) has advertised over 35 unique opportunities to member schools since the start of this half term in November. Six of these (that’s one per week) have been exclusive to the partnership, this means that the opportunity only existed because of SSLP. The Take A Seat competition has connected students from six schools, part 1 of the Professional Learning Trio connected teachers from another six schools and the Gospel Choir Night, attended by ninety five students, connected school choirs. Other opportunities included the sharing of spare capacity at events, inter-school mock Oxbridge preparation and promotion of public events.

Nine SSLP schools have been competing, with others, in the Southwark Schools Basketball League during the Autumn term. Congratulations to UAE South Bank who became eventual winners of the U16 competition in a thrilling triple overtime victory against St Thomas Apostle College. The U14 competition saw Dulwich College take on Kingsdale Foundation School, the game was close, but the talented Kingsdale team pushed on to victory in the last few minutes to be crowned U14 champions.

79 photographs from 11 schools were entered in the first round of the 2019-20 SSLP Street Photography Competition. The guest judge this month was JoPaul, a street photographer living in South London. All the photographs are viewed ‘blind’, as the judge only knows the first name of the photographer.
