The first of the third Thinking About…series took place on Tuesday. Thinking About… Genocide with Dr James Smith, was hosted by students from Dulwich College and JAGS. There were 71 unique viewers representing 11 different schools. Our website provides access to the recording, which has already been viewed 29 times, and also additional materials from the Aegis Trust – including a personal message from the Central African Republic. Please take a look.

SSLP Middle Leaders’ Training

Forty-one SSLP teachers came together after school on Wednesday for their third CPD training session for new and aspiring middle leaders. They were led by the inspirational Jill Berry to explore communication skills for leaders. We are able to bring this training to teachers in fourteen schools completely free of charge. One attendee said:

Last term we asked Do you speak my language? as we were curious about the diversity of our partnership. Thank you to the 283 people who told us about languages they know.  We learnt that 40% of us speak one or more language other than English at home. Collectively we use 48 different languages, the most common is French.

Anti – Racism Conference 
On Wednesday 25th November over 100 staff and students from thirteen SSLP schools came together on Zoom for an Anti-Racism Conference.

Monday saw twelve SSLP students in virtual attendance at Dulwich College’s mock Multiple Mini Interviews (MMIs) where they each had seven 5-minute interviews in quick succession as preparation for their real-life Medicine degrees. We wish them all the best of luck. Our Tuesday Thinking About webinar was hosted by students from Queen’s College London who spoke with Professor Duncan Wheeler about Spanish National Culture(s) and welcomed 80 virtual guests. St Saviour’s & St Olave’s took the lead on Wednesday, hosting a very ambitious conference for staff and students on anti-racism. Mock Oxbridge interviews are continuing this and next week, with a whole afternoon offered at Dulwich College on Thursday.
