We have just two more Thinking About webinars remaining this academic year, Thinking About… Art History and Thinking About… The Green Economy. The Thinking About series is aimed at students in Years 10 and above but anyone who is interested in the subject is welcome to attend, this includes students of all all ages, all staff and parents as well as those in other schools beyond the SSLP. The subject varies each week with guest speakers being invited by different schools and student hosts facilitating questions. As a webinar participants can join discreetly from home or school and can ask questions using the Q&A. There’s no commitment for repeat attendance, so why not register for one of these and learn something new?

It has been a real pleasure to work with the Worshipful Company of International Bankers to introduce debating into SSLP schools this year.
Five state schools received six week’s of training from Debate Mate before being invited to enter a beginner’s competition open to all SSLP schools.
On Wednesday 4th May eight teams gathered at JAGS for three rounds of debating before a final between the hosts and St Michael’s Catholic College. It was the home team, ranging from year 7 to 12, who won by a narrow margin.
