SSLP Photographic 2021-22

A 2021-22 competition for SSLP staff and students! Now closed.

Any camera can be used, but special consideration must be given to the subject, the light, the composition and the emotion within the image, as this will bring your photograph to life.

The SSLP Photographic competition spread over five months will test your resilience and ability to regularly produce work of a high standard and to a given brief. You will be asked to submit one photograph each month that should be inspired by the monthly theme. Good Luck!

MARCH: COLOUR
This last theme was judged by Graphic Designer Hannah Gold. She was amazed by the high standard of photography and has left the following feedback alongside her chosen photographers:

“I loved all of the photographs, the students and staff really captured some beautiful displays of colour. It was very difficult to pick a winner and runner up, it was a tough choice!”

Congratulations to Ava, Karissa, Sarah and Helen for these fantastic photographs responding to the challenge of “colour”. This was the fifth and final round in this year’s competition.

FEBRUARY : LEADING LINES

Our judge for the month was Chloe Lecuyer-Mayo Artist and Teacher

“It has taken a considerable amount of time to reach a decision here, as there were so many great photos to choose from. A huge well done to everyone who submitted images, you have produced some excellent photographs and I have gone back and forth several times to decide on a winner!”

NOVEMBER : TEXTURE

Our Judge for the month was Ruth Blackford, Artist and Teacher

I really enjoyed looking at all the entries. There’s such a range of textures represented and I love the ambiguity of some of them when I wasn’t sure what I was looking at. It was a difficult decision to make but my winners and runners up are as follows:
