Our Judge for the month was Chantal Gilou, Artist and Art Teacher at JAGS.

Thank you for inviting me to select this December’s Photography winners. The category of ‘Still Life’ is a hard, but good theme I believe! The entries ranged from contemporary takes on the quintessential still life object; fruit, plants, ceramic pots, jars; to the more subtle descriptions of space and changing light sources. It was an absolute joy to see all the entries. Very well done to all that entered. A special congratulations to the winners and runners up.

Entrances & Exits.’

We had 36 photographs entered in the second round of the
2019-20 SSLP Street Photography Competition
The guest judges this month were from RichardClive and Partner. All the photographs are viewed ‘blind’, as the judges only know the first name of the photographer.

“We [RichardClive] liked the tension of something about to happen and the initial confusion over whether it is another person or a reflection in Juliana’s picture. We were also impressed with the colour balance which is often difficult to achieve and the blurring that adds to the active motion the picture instils.”

79 photographs from 11 schools were entered in the first round of the 2019-20 SSLP Street Photography Competition. The guest judge this month was JoPaul, a street photographer living in South London. All the photographs are viewed ‘blind’, as the judge only knows the first name of the photographer.
